Built for
Windows.
PhotoCorral is a 64-bit Windows desktop application designed for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Here is what you need before installing it.
Windows 10 or Windows 11
PhotoCorral is designed for 64-bit Windows PCs. It is not a macOS application.
A normal Windows photo computer is enough to get started.
The amount of storage and processing time required will depend mainly on the size of your photo collection and the kinds of files you work with.
Operating system
64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11.
PhotoCorral is a Windows desktop application and is not currently available for macOS.
Storage space
You need enough free local storage for the PhotoCorral catalogue, managed photo copies, thumbnails, previews, edited versions and exports.
Larger photo collections naturally require more storage.
Photo files
PhotoCorral works with common photo formats including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP and HEIC/HEIF, together with supported camera RAW files.
Performance
PhotoCorral performs catalogue scanning, thumbnails, People recognition, Semantic Search and photo processing locally on your computer.
A faster processor and SSD can improve the experience with very large catalogues or RAW-heavy libraries, but they are not special PhotoCorral requirements.
Plan storage for your photographs.
PhotoCorral’s normal Add to Catalog workflow keeps the source original untouched and creates a managed catalogue copy. Make sure the drive used by PhotoCorral has sufficient free space for the collection you intend to catalogue.
Some file types depend on Windows support.
PhotoCorral uses Windows components where appropriate. A format may therefore require the corresponding codec support to be installed in Windows.
Windows must be able to see the iPhone first.
PhotoCorral can import photographs from an iPhone when Windows recognises and can access the device. The phone may appear in Windows before its photos are fully available, so PhotoCorral includes a preparation stage before scanning.
Your photo catalogue stays on your computer.
PhotoCorral is built around local catalogue storage and local processing. Features such as People recognition and Semantic Search do not require your photo library to be uploaded to a cloud photo service.
